Concept Videos
Here at Northwood, we grew up in the ’90s – when music videos weren’t just promotional tools, they were part of the experience. You’d discover a song on MuchMusic or MTV, and the visuals would become inseparable from the music. Sometimes cinematic, sometimes simple, sometimes a little weird – but always intentional. The video didn’t just accompany the song – it helped define it.
That’s the spirit behind our Concept Music Videos.
These videos are built around the studio recording, using lip-synced performance, visual storytelling, or creative ideas to give a song its own visual identity. The concept can be minimal – a single compelling performance – or more elaborate, with narrative elements, locations, or stylized imagery. However simple or complex, the goal is the same: to bring out the mood, imagery, and personality already living inside the music.
Concept videos don’t need to be big to be memorable. Sometimes it’s just the right light, the right space, or a unique perspective on the artist. Other times it’s playful, cinematic, or abstract. Either way, we approach each one as an opportunity to create an artful visual companion – something that helps the song connect, resonate, and stick with the listeners.
Live Videos
There’s something powerful about a real performance – the energy in the room, the subtle imperfections, the moments that only happen once. Live music videos capture that immediacy, preserving a performance as it unfolds, whether on stage, in the studio, or somewhere in between.
At Northwood, our live music videos focus on authenticity. From intimate in-studio sessions to full-band live recordings or concert footage, the goal is always the same: to document the artist in their element.
Live Music Videos can be raw and stripped-down, or carefully produced with multiple cameras, thoughtful lighting, and polished audio – but they always retain the spontaneity and honesty of a true performance. It’s about capturing the feel of being there, and giving the song a sense of presence that only live performance can provide.
